Apple CEO Tim Cook said, “Today is the beginning of a new era for iPhone. We are bringing 5G to iPhone.”

After a long wait, Apple finally unveiled the new iPhone 12 series at its virtual event on Tuesday, 13th October 2020, and it consists of the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max. 

Apple has confirmed that iPhone 12 will feature 5G technology, allowing you to enjoy super-fast browsing and download speed on your phone.


Release Date

Apple has set 23rd October 2020 as the release date of the iPhone 12; however, you’ll be able to pre-order the phone from 16th October 2020. Moreover, the iPhone 12 mini will be released on 13th November 2020 and you can pre-order it from 6th November 2020.

Design and Display

iPhone 12 has a display size of 6.1 inches with a notch at the top of the display. It comes in five colors, including Blue, Red, White, Green, and Black. It features a Super Retina XDR Display, and it has double the number of pixels as the iPhone 11. All the new iPhones have acquired their predecessor's design but with slight changes on sides featuring flat sides instead of curved sides.  
 

Apple has added a new Ceramic Shield glass display to make iPhone 12 the toughest in the industry. 
 

It features an aluminum frame around the outside of the phone. Apple doesn't provide exact dimensions of the iPhone 12, but the company says it's 11% thinner, 15% smaller, and 16%lighter than the iPhone 11. iPhone 12 features the latest A14 Bionic Chip and OLED displays. 
 

The iPhone 12 mini has a 5.4-inch screen and compact design which is claimed by the company that it is the 'smallest, thinnest and lightest 5G smartphone' in the world. The resolutions of the iPhone 12 mini are 2340 X 1080 pixels. 
 

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro has the same display size of 6.1-inch OLED, with resolutions of 2530 X 1170 pixels, on the other hand, Apple has equipped iPhone 12 Pro Max with a little bit large size of 6.7-inch OLED and resolutions of 2778 X 1284 pixels. 
 

Additionally, it has a new MagSafe wireless charging system designed to make wireless charging a bit faster, more comfortable, and convenient.

All of the iPhone 12 series phones come with a dual rear camera. It features a 12 MP wide camera with an f/1.6 aperture, and a 12 MP ultra-wide shooter with an f/2.4 aperture and 120-degree field of view. 

Battery

In terms of Battery life, the iPhone 12 mini claimed to deliver up to 15 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 12 is rated to deliver up to 17 hours of video playback, and so does the iPhone 12 Pro. Moreover, iPhone 12 Pro Max has the longest battery life in an iPhone, which claims to deliver 20 hours of video playback. 
 

Notably, for environmental purposes, the iPhone 12 series will be shipped without an AC adapter in the box.


Price

The price for the iPhone 12 series will start from USD$699 in the US, likely because of the introduction of 5G technology. Price can vary for different regions. 

In Singapore, iPhone 12 mini starts at S$1,149 with the display size of a 5.4-inch screen, and iPhone 12 with a 6.1-inch display starting at S$1,299.

The iPhone 12 series also features an all-new design, pro camera system for low light, and pushed performance even further. However, Apple doesn’t provide any clue about the RAM capacity of the iPhone at the launch event.

We are guessing that it would be starting at around 4 GB and further.
